The Challenge
Accessing and repairing plumbing beneath an existing basement slab required significant demolition and dust management in an occupied home.
The process needed to balance safety, cleanliness, and precision while coordinating with plumbing contractors working within tight spaces.
Our Solution
Containment & Air Quality: Installed 6mm plastic barriers and masking in affected areas, utilized air scrubbers and fans to create negative air pressure, and recommended HVAC precautions to limit dust spread.
Demolition: Carefully removed the bathroom slab, hallway trench, and debris, coordinating excavation with the plumbing team.
Backfill & Pour: Line-pumped controlled density fill (CDF) for superior compaction around new piping, followed by doweled rebar and re-mesh reinforcement. A final concrete pour was troweled to align with existing slab elevation.
